Quart de Poblet leads early childhood support through the European Erasmus+ LEARN project

This September, the municipality of Quart de Poblet advanced its commitment to early childhood care by hosting a key working session under the framework of the European Erasmus+ project LEARN. The initiative focuses on ensuring that local families receive comprehensive, high-quality support during the critical first 1,000 days of a child’s life.

Quart de Poblet is collaborating with an international consortium of partner organizations across Europe, including Spain’s Fundación Pascual Tomás, Italy’s Consorzio per la Formazione l’Innovazione e la Qualità (CFIQ), Bulgaria’s KU TU EOOD, the Netherlands’ Pressure Line Rotterdam, and Ireland’s Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts and Equality.

At the local level, the project is being driven through close coordination between Quart de Poblet’s European Projects department and its Social Services area, led by Councilor Llum Moral alongside municipal coordinator Xelo Camps.Together, the teams are laying the groundwork for the project’s local rollout across three core pillars:

  • Mapping Key Municipal Services: Identifying and centralizing existing local resources, such as the Escuela de Familias (Family School), the Early Intervention Center (Centro de Atención Temprana), Red Cross initiatives, mental health and day-care services, as well as educational and cultural programming tailored to infants and young families.
  • Cross-Departmental Synergy: Strengthening structured cooperation among Social Services, Education, Culture, and specialized community agents to deliver holistic, continuous guidance to parents and caregivers.
  • Inclusive and Intercultural Alignment: Streamlining municipal resources with a strong intercultural lens, ensuring public services respond effectively and empathetically to the diverse social and cultural realities across the town.

By actively participating in international networks like LEARN, Quart de Poblet continues to strengthen its local infrastructure, creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child has the best start in life.
